About
Born and bred in sunny South Africa, Candice is an award-winning executive creative leader with nearly two decades of experience building brands, people and business through creativity.
Over the course of her career, she has worked across some of the world's most respected agency networks—including Digitas, Ogilvy, FCB, and DDB—creating highly effective integrated campaigns and platforms for iconic brands across CPG, telecommunications, QSR, retail, financial services, and public service.
After growing her career in Johannesburg, South Africa, Candice was recruited to Chicago, where she has continued her rise into executive creative leadership. Today, she leads creative across a portfolio of North America's most beloved ice cream brands for one of the continent's largest frozen dessert companies, creating work people crave, building teams people want to be part of, and delivering results that move the needle for her clients.
Candice believes in winning hearts before trophies but has been fortunate enough to win plenty of both. Her work has been recognized by Cannes Lions, D&AD, One Show, The Webby Awards, LIA, MMA Smarties, FWA, Creativepool, Midas, IAB Bookmarks, The Loerie Awards, and numerous other international award shows. She is especially proud of her Cannes Lions Gold Award for Cadbury PreJoy and D&AD recognition for both Cadbury PreJoy and KFC Suppertime Stories. She also recently served on the New York Festivals Grand Jury.
She takes the work seriously, but never herself. And while you'll see a bunch of industry celebrated campaigns in her book, you'll also find plenty of great real work that keeps the lights on. Because that's the stuff that earns the trust to shoot them out.
Above all, Candice is a human-first leader who cares deeply about the brands she leads and teams she mentors. She believes the best creative leaders create environments where talented people can be themselves, laugh a lot and do the best work of their lives. She's passionate about telling stories, elevating the craft of those around her, developing people with empathy and intention, and proving that great creativity can move both people and business.
When she isn't chasing the next big idea, she's running after her two-year-old daughter, Rosie, negotiating with two very demanding miniature poodles named Poppy and Daisy, or both. Oh, and making pasta (always al dente) and meatballs with sauce for her Italian-American hubby.
